Locally, a few people I encounter at the bookstore, always make me laugh. Frank De Luca, has a local psychotherapist practice. He also teaches at San Fransisco University, and teaches the Enneagram (a particular system of analysis to represent the spectrum of possible personality types). Well, when Frank pops by the store, Paul & I always find ourselves laughing. It's not the way he looks; he's a sharp dresser. He has a great sense of humor.
This interview took us through different aspect of Frank, his name-sake and back to his family roots; Italy. Sure to entertain, educate and perhaps warm your heart.

Sensei Danielle Smith is the dojo-cho (chief instructor) at Aikido of Monterey, California. She is dedicated to continuing to build a dojo community that is committed to and inspired by studying the "Art of Peace." She also teaches Pilates. She was a Model Mugging Instructor for many years too.
She shares her perspective as a woman over the 40 years of training in this art of peace, and how she has utilized these skills to help others (age 4 and up) to build confidence and respond to difficult situations in a way that makes friends not enemies.

Pamela Takigawa is a Monterey, California based artist who specializes in watercolor prints of natural and oceanic environments. She has her work at the Carmel Art Association. Her detailed monotype prints are transferred to paper to paper with printer's ink on an etching press, but unlike etching, the woodblock print surface is devoid of scratching or caving. She creates her images by inking the plate and wiping away areas that will be left free of ink on the paper.
She shares her original inspiration, motivation today and the messages she hopes to convey.
