Ken shares his original inspiration at age 10 reading The Secret Garden. Years later, at UCSC his participation in the garden project would turn him to this life's work. Winning awards for community outreach and innovation his team of passionate professionals, continue to grow.
This interview was very informative on the topic of organic farming, ecological landscaping, and permaculture innovations and education.
Ken Foster, is a native of Santa Cruz, California. In 1985 Ken was an apprentice at the U.C. Santa Cruz Farm and Garden and has a certificate in Ecological Horticulture from there. Ken also has an A.S. degree in horticulture from Cabrillo College. Ken is a landscape contractor, a certified permaculture designer and the owner of Terra Nova Ecological Landscaping since 1988.

like he grew up, growing food and living close to the land. Michael
tells stories about how old Monterey was, how life is for him working
less than 4 days per week, and living off the harvest that he grows in
his yard. He still makes time to travel. He has many friends and
relatives that share in his farming ventures and knows how to build
community around him. He shares some favorite recipes that will make

Pamela Takigawa is a Monterey, California based artist who specializes in watercolor prints of natural and oceanic environments. She has her work at the Carmel Art Association. Her detailed monotype prints are transferred to paper to paper with printer's ink on an etching press, but unlike etching, the woodblock print surface is devoid of scratching or caving. She creates her images by inking the plate and wiping away areas that will be left free of ink on the paper.
She shares her original inspiration, motivation today and the messages she hopes to convey.
